Happy 2013! I slept the new year in, zonked out on the medications for my illness. Good thing I don't believe in that whole "what you do at midnight is what you'll do all year" thing, huh?
I've been seeing bloggers posting favorite books of 2012, books they're looking forward to in 2013, etc. I've decided to Felicia-fy them and make my own post. I'm highlighting my highs of 2012, including books, and my hopes for 2013. But no resolutions. Those things are a waste of time, don't you think?
2012
*Read 51 books (such a disappointment)
*Wrote The White Aura
*Published The White Aura and ended the year with 70 sales
*Reached over 1000 twitter followers and 250 facebook fans
*Reached the half way point of my MBA program
*Decided to homeschool my daughter, Amelia, and got started on preschool assignments
*Became an "auntie" to my best friend's daughters! Love my little Sophia and Layla
*Became a vegetarian on March 20th, at about 7pm
*Found a whole new community of authors and readers that I absolutely love
*Got my own column in The Mountain View Newspaper in Spencer, TN
2013
My hopes for the coming year:
*To write at least three books
*To publish the rest of Olivia and Scott's story (Books Two and Three)
*To reach 500 facebook fans
*To start homeschooling my daughter for Kindergarten classes this fall
*To reach 2500 twitter followers
*To eat more veggies
*To find my daily balance and fit everything in without driving myself crazy
*To finish the MBA program
*To read at least 100 books
Now, the best books I read in 2012? Such a hard question!!
The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden by Jessica Sorensen
The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead
Something Borrowed by Emily Griffin
Something Blue by Emily Griffin
Beyond the Eyes by Rebekkah Ford
Burning in Water by Arielle Caldwell
Shiver, Linger, and Forever by Maggie Steifvater
Books I'm most looking forward to:
The Indigo Spell by Richelle Mead (Feb '13)
The Redemption of Callie and Kayden by Jessica Sorensen (Feb '13)
Dark Spirits by Rebekkah Ford (Jan '13)
Drowning in Fire by Arielle Caldwell (I think Feb '13)
These are all sequels to books I read this year...I'm so impatient, so hurry it up people! ;)
Anyways, I really hope you all have a wonderous year. Just be the best you that you can be, every day.
I love your hopes for the new year! Three books, I'm just hoping to finish one. You are ambitious, especially with a toddler, near Kindergartner. New follower here, looking forward to reading more from you!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for following!! I wrote my first one this past year, so now that I know what I'm doing, I think I can do it faster :D Ambitious is my middle name haha I hope you enjoy the posts to come this year.

I didn't know you were homeschooling! How lovely! I tell teacher friends it's the best job I ever had, but now that I'm writing more, I have to say that is creeping higher and higher on my list of faves ;) Best of luck to you in all things this year!
ReplyDeleteYeah! I'm excited! She starts kindergarten this fall, so it will be our first official year :) You should give me homeschool tips! haha Writing is amazing, I must agree! Thank you :) YOU TOO!
